Liner Notes

CD "Voice of Brazil"

" Warm Voice sings Bossa Nova, grooving like ocean waves "

" Intimacy embraces and cuddles your heart "

" A compelling feeling runs the gauntlet of emotions and sensibilities"

Leisei Chen's first debut album " Voice of Brazil ", cerebrating the 40th anniversary of Bossa Nova, and dedicated to a great bossa nova composer Antonio Carol Jobim. Jazz & bossa nova song stylist Leisei Chen delivered these standard songs (except her original "So Far From Home" ) of Bossa Nova into her own unique interpretation, singing in both Portuguese and English. " Love, Sadness, Sweetness, and Nature " - I felt from the songs in this album "Voice of Brazil", working with Bossa Nova always nurtured and soothed me. And I found the emotional sensibilities and "Saudade", which means "Longing" - the theme of Brazilian music - that is the great journey exploring into a venerable side of my whole being, and it called for much love and care " Leisei recalled and continued. " The live recording in acoustic setting always bring forth a musical adventure of spontaneity, deep listening, intuition and a true sense of musicianship. The magical moments arrive way beyond one's imaginations, and clear away all preconceived thoughts and ideas"  This album could not have been possible without the great talents of brazilian guitar virtuoso Marco De Cavalho from Rio de Janeiro and his longtime musical partner Ted Britton drums. A thoughtful master enginner Doug Haire at Jack Straw Studio in May 2000.
